The ease of obtaining an Indonesian visa is a compelling factor for Namibian tourists to visit Bali. This was revealed during a meeting between the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Windhoek and six travel agents in Windhoek on March 7, 2024.
“The Indonesian Embassy provides good, customer-friendly, and responsive visa services,” said Violet, owner of Just Holidays Travel Agent. The same sentiment was echoed by other travel agents present at the meeting, including Trip Travel, Rennies Travel, Blueberry Travel, and Season Tours. The ease of travel to Indonesia encourages travel agents to promote Indonesian tourism more to their clients.
During the meeting with the Indonesian Embassy, the travel agents were briefed on the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2024 and tourism levy policy in Bali.
They enthusiastically welcomed information about BBTF, as Bali remains one of the favorite tourist destinations in Asia for Namibians. Namibian travel agents showed their interest to participate in BBTF to expand their market and gain firsthand experience of Bali’s attractions.
“BBTF is a good opportunity for tourism promotion. Therefore, Indonesian Embassy will organize a familiarization trip (famtrip) for travel agents to further introduce Bali,” said Head of Information, Socio-Cultural Department of the Indonesian Embassy, Ari Hadiman. The famtrip is planned to coincide with BBTF 2024, providing Namibian travel agents with the opportunity to expand their business network through BBTF.
Interest in Namibian tourist visits to Bali continues to grow. According to Indonesian immigration data, around 315 Namibian tourists visited Indonesia between January and October 2023. About 80% of Namibian tourist visits to Indonesia are aimed at Bali.
